Condensation and Mould Treatment in London
Water running down windows, black mould in corners, behind furniture and around bathroom ceilings – condensation is the most common cause of damp in London homes. Treating the mould alone never lasts. We find out why the moisture is building up and fix that.
Why Condensation Happens
Condensation forms when warm, moist air from cooking, showering, drying clothes and breathing meets a cold surface. Older solid-wall properties, flats with poor ventilation and rooms with cold spots (thermal bridges) suffer the most.
Condensation Or Something Worse?
Mould is not always condensation. Penetrating damp, rising damp and plumbing leaks can all produce mould. A damp survey with moisture readings tells the difference – so you don’t spend money on the wrong solution.
How We Solve Condensation And Mould
- Damp survey with humidity and surface temperature readings
- Positive input ventilation (PIV) units or continuous extract fans
- Insulating cold walls and fixing thermal bridges
- Mould treatment and anti-mould redecoration
- Fixing any penetrating or rising damp found during the survey
